Frequently asked questions

What is Hi Doctor?

Hi Doctor is an online medical consultation service for adults in the European Union. You answer a health questionnaire, and an EU-licensed doctor reviews it and decides whether treatment is appropriate. See How it works.

Who reviews my consultation?

Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only. See Safety.

Is there a video call or an appointment?

No. A consultation is written from start to finish: the doctor reads your questionnaire and replies in your private message thread.

Which countries can use Hi Doctor?

Residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service. The full list is on Countries.

Which languages is Hi Doctor available in?

Eight: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese and Chinese. See Countries.

What can Hi Doctor help with?

Hi Doctor covers twelve consultation categories, including weight loss, hair loss, sexual health, four prevention pathways and four skin conditions. See Treatments.

How much does a consultation cost?

Each category has a published fee in euros, which covers the medical consultation only. See Pricing.

What happens if the doctor does not approve treatment?

The fee is refunded in full; for a plan, that period’s fee is refunded and the plan is cancelled. See Pricing.

Does Hi Doctor sell or deliver medicine?

No. Hi Doctor does not sell, stock or ship medicine. The pharmacy dispenses it and charges its own price.

What kind of prescription do I receive?

An electronic prescription where the pharmacy’s country supports it, otherwise a signed prescription document. See How it works.

Can I use my prescription in another EU country?

EU rules provide for recognition of a prescription in another member state where the pharmacy can verify it, and dispensing follows that country’s rules. See Countries.

Can I choose my pharmacy?

Yes. You take your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice.

How do I cancel a plan?

Cancel at any time from your account or the billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period.

Who can use Hi Doctor?

Adults aged 18 or over who live in an EU member state. Whether a treatment suits you is then checked by the questionnaire and decided by the doctor.

Can I use Hi Doctor from an AI assistant?

Yes. The MCP connector lets you use your own account from apps such as Claude or ChatGPT, with the permissions you approve.

Can an AI assistant prescribe or change my dose?

No. No algorithm, assistant or API call approves a consultation, issues a prescription or changes a dose.

Who can see my medical information?

You and the medical team authorised to treat you. A connected app sees only what the permissions you approved allow.

How do I report a side effect?

Report it from your account, through the MCP connector or in your message thread with the medical team.

Is Hi Doctor an emergency service?

No. For severe or sudden symptoms, contact your local emergency number immediately.
