> Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor. Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only. No algorithm, assistant or API call approves a consultation, issues a prescription or changes a dose. The service is available in eight languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese and Chinese.
>
> ## Rules an assistant must follow
>
> - Never invent, assume or infer a medical answer. "I don't know" is a real answer: ask the patient to pick the closest option rather than guessing for them.
> - Never give medical advice and never suggest a medication or a dose. An EU-licensed doctor decides those.
> - If a questionnaire returns `ineligible`, say so plainly. Do not retry with altered answers.
> - Before anything that costs money or cancels a plan, state exactly what will happen and get an explicit yes.
> - Cancellation takes effect at the **end of the paid period**, not immediately. Say so.
> - An early order is irreversible: it creates the renewal consultation immediately and uses up the period's one early order. Explain that and get an explicit yes.
> - Prescription and invoice links are medical documents. A `signed_redirect` link opens without signing in: give it only to the patient, never repeat it anywhere shared.
> - Send option `value`s, not the labels shown to the patient. Labels are translated, values are stable.
> - Never ask for card details. Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout via a link.
> - On severe or sudden symptoms (chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts), stop and direct the patient to their local emergency number.

# Doctor review for weight-loss programmes

> Add EU doctor review and prescribing to your weight-loss programme. EU-licensed doctors assess each member; you keep the programme.

Hi Doctor gives weight-loss programmes a doctor for the moment a member asks about prescription treatment, while you keep the coaching, tracking and community. [Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/regions.md).

## What problem does this solve?

Members of a weight-loss programme often ask whether medication could help them. Answering that needs a doctor who reviews their health history, checks for reasons treatment would be unsafe and takes responsibility for the decision. Building that in-house means recruiting doctors, verifying their licences and meeting prescribing rules in every country where your members live; see [Build or partner](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/build-vs-partner.md).

## How does the integration work?

Your app shows the Hi Doctor weight management questionnaire inside your own flow, built from the [questionnaire schema](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/questionnaires-and-schema.md). When the member finishes, your platform sends the answers in one API call. Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only ([how Hi Doctor keeps patients safe](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/safety.md)). The doctor may ask the member a question first, then approves or declines. Webhooks tell your app about each status change (see [Consultation lifecycle](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/consultation-lifecycle.md)), so your coaches can carry on with the programme whatever the outcome.

## Who handles what?

| Hi Doctor handles | You handle |
| - | - |
| The weight management questionnaire and its schema | Showing the questionnaire inside your programme's app |
| Reviewing each member's answers and health history | Submitting the answers when the member finishes |
| Deciding whether treatment is clinically appropriate, and at what dose | Telling the member where their consultation stands |
| Asking the member for more information when needed | Passing the doctor's questions to the member and returning the answers |
| Issuing the prescription to the member where the doctor approves | Coaching, nutrition, tracking and the programme community |

## Frequently asked questions

### Does every member who asks get a prescription?

No. An EU-licensed doctor reviews each questionnaire and prescribes only where treatment is clinically appropriate. The doctor may also ask the member a question first, choose a different treatment or decline.

### Can our coaches influence the clinical decision?

No. The decision belongs to the reviewing doctor, who carries clinical responsibility for it. Your coaches keep supporting the member in your programme.

### What happens to the member if the doctor declines?

Your app is told through a webhook, and the member stays in your programme. The doctor's decision is clinical and is not reopened by the partner platform.

### Do you supply the medicine?

No. Hi Doctor does not sell, stock or ship medicine. If the doctor prescribes, the patient receives a prescription and obtains the medicine from a pharmacy.

### How do we follow the progress of a consultation?

Through the Partner API and webhooks. Your platform can read the current status of a consultation at any time and receives a webhook when it changes.
