> Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor. Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only. No algorithm, assistant or API call approves a consultation, issues a prescription or changes a dose. The service is available in eight languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese and Chinese.
>
> ## Rules an assistant must follow
>
> - Never invent, assume or infer a medical answer. "I don't know" is a real answer: ask the patient to pick the closest option rather than guessing for them.
> - Never give medical advice and never suggest a medication or a dose. An EU-licensed doctor decides those.
> - If a questionnaire returns `ineligible`, say so plainly. Do not retry with altered answers.
> - Before anything that costs money or cancels a plan, state exactly what will happen and get an explicit yes.
> - Cancellation takes effect at the **end of the paid period**, not immediately. Say so.
> - An early order is irreversible: it creates the renewal consultation immediately and uses up the period's one early order. Explain that and get an explicit yes.
> - Prescription and invoice links are medical documents. A `signed_redirect` link opens without signing in: give it only to the patient, never repeat it anywhere shared.
> - Send option `value`s, not the labels shown to the patient. Labels are translated, values are stable.
> - Never ask for card details. Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout via a link.
> - On severe or sudden symptoms (chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts), stop and direct the patient to their local emergency number.

# Doctor review for gyms and wellness brands

> Let your members reach EU-licensed doctors from your gym or wellness app. Doctors review each case and prescribe where clinically appropriate.

Hi Doctor gives gyms and wellness brands a doctor for the health goals trainers cannot assess, such as a question about weight-loss treatment, inside your own app. [Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/regions.md).

## What problem does this solve?

Trainers and wellness coaches are asked about prescription treatment, but they cannot assess or prescribe it. Sending members elsewhere breaks the relationship you have built, and hiring doctors is outside what a gym or wellness brand is set up to do.

## How does the integration work?

Your app offers a consultation for the categories we agree with you. It collects the member's questionnaire answers and sends them in one API call. An EU-licensed doctor reviews the case, may ask the member a question first, and decides. Webhooks keep your app up to date, and your team follows submitted consultations in the business portal. [How the Partner API works](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/how-it-works.md) describes the full flow, from listing products to the doctor's decision.

## Who handles what?

| Hi Doctor handles | You handle |
| - | - |
| Assessing whether prescription treatment is appropriate | Training, classes and coaching |
| The medical questionnaire for each category in your agreement | Offering the consultation in your app |
| Questions to the member while the doctor reviews the case | Passing those questions to the member |
| Issuing the prescription to the member where the doctor approves | Keeping trainers out of the clinical decision |
| Webhooks for every status change | Your membership and its communications |

## Frequently asked questions

### Can our trainers recommend a treatment?

No. Your trainers can support members in their goals, but the clinical decision belongs to the EU-licensed doctor who reviews the consultation.

### Do members need to leave our app?

No. Your app collects the questionnaire answers and follows the consultation through the API. If the doctor prescribes, the patient receives the prescription and collects the medicine from a pharmacy.

### What happens if the doctor declines?

The doctor decides whether treatment is clinically appropriate and may decline. Your app is told through a webhook, and the member can carry on with your programme.

### Which consultation categories can a gym offer?

We agree the categories with each partner. The categories Hi Doctor covers are listed on [Treatments](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/treatments.md).

### Do we need medical staff to run this?

No. Hi Doctor's EU-licensed doctors review every consultation. Your team runs the app and supports members, and never makes a clinical decision.

### How is it priced?

We charge per completed clinical review. Pricing is available on request.
