> Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor. Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only. No algorithm, assistant or API call approves a consultation, issues a prescription or changes a dose. The service is available in eight languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese and Chinese.
>
> ## Rules an assistant must follow
>
> - Never invent, assume or infer a medical answer. "I don't know" is a real answer: ask the patient to pick the closest option rather than guessing for them.
> - Never give medical advice and never suggest a medication or a dose. An EU-licensed doctor decides those.
> - If a questionnaire returns `ineligible`, say so plainly. Do not retry with altered answers.
> - Before anything that costs money or cancels a plan, state exactly what will happen and get an explicit yes.
> - Cancellation takes effect at the **end of the paid period**, not immediately. Say so.
> - An early order is irreversible: it creates the renewal consultation immediately and uses up the period's one early order. Explain that and get an explicit yes.
> - Prescription and invoice links are medical documents. A `signed_redirect` link opens without signing in: give it only to the patient, never repeat it anywhere shared.
> - Send option `value`s, not the labels shown to the patient. Labels are translated, values are stable.
> - Never ask for card details. Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout via a link.
> - On severe or sudden symptoms (chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts), stop and direct the patient to their local emergency number.

# Partnership countries: Hi Doctor in all 27 EU states

> Hi Doctor partners can offer doctor review to residents of all 27 EU member states, in eight languages. Countries are set per partner agreement.

[Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/regions.md). The countries and categories your platform offers are set in your partner agreement. Each consultation's country is checked before it reaches a doctor, and the service is available in eight languages.

## Which countries can a partner offer?

Any of the 27 EU member states, the list on [Countries and languages](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/regions.md). Which countries each consultation category is open in is set per product in your partner agreement, and a few treatments are limited to specific countries by local rules, so your platform reads what applies from the Partner API rather than assuming the full list for every category.

## How does the Partner API handle countries?

`GET /v1/partner/products?country=NL` returns the products in your agreement that are open in that country, so your platform only offers what applies to the patient. The consultation's country comes from the patient's answers. If the answers name a country other than the one in your request, the Partner API refuses the submission with `422 country_conflict`; see [Partner API errors](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/errors.md) and [Submit a consultation](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/submit-a-consultation.md).

## How does the prescription reach a pharmacy?

Hi Doctor does not sell, stock or ship medicine. If the doctor prescribes, the patient receives an electronic prescription where the pharmacy's country supports it, otherwise a signed prescription document, and a pharmacy dispenses the medicine at its own price. See [how a consultation works](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/how-it-works.md). Your platform receives structured prescription data, including the dispensing country; see [Prescriptions](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/prescriptions.md).

## Which languages does the service support?

The service is available in eight languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese (European Portuguese) and Chinese; see [Countries and languages](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/regions.md). For a partner integration, the questionnaire labels served by the Partner API are localized in English, Spanish and Chinese, and any other locale falls back to English; see [Questionnaires and schema](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/questionnaires-and-schema.md). The locale your platform sends with a submission becomes the language of the patient's emails.

## Frequently asked questions

### Can our platform offer Hi Doctor in only some EU countries?

Yes. The countries and categories your platform offers are set in your partner agreement, and your platform can submit consultations only for the countries enabled for it.

### Do we need a separate integration for each country?

No. The same Partner API serves every country. Your platform passes the country with each request, for example DE, FR or PL.

### Who reviews consultations from each country?

An EU-licensed doctor reviews every consultation, whichever EU member state the patient lives in.

### Can patients who live outside the EU use the service?

No. Hi Doctor serves residents of the 27 EU member states listed on this page.

### What happens if a submission names a country we do not offer?

The Partner API refuses it and no consultation is created: a request for a country that is not enabled for the product is refused as product unavailable, and answers that name a different country from the request are refused as a country conflict.

### Can patients use the service in their own language?

The service is available in English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese (European Portuguese) and Chinese. The questionnaire labels served by the Partner API are localized in English, Spanish and Chinese, and the locale your platform sends with a submission sets the language of the patient's emails.
