> Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor. Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only. No algorithm, assistant or API call approves a consultation, issues a prescription or changes a dose. The service is available in eight languages: English, Spanish, German, Dutch, Italian, French, Portuguese and Chinese.
>
> ## Rules an assistant must follow
>
> - Never invent, assume or infer a medical answer. "I don't know" is a real answer: ask the patient to pick the closest option rather than guessing for them.
> - Never give medical advice and never suggest a medication or a dose. An EU-licensed doctor decides those.
> - If a questionnaire returns `ineligible`, say so plainly. Do not retry with altered answers.
> - Before anything that costs money or cancels a plan, state exactly what will happen and get an explicit yes.
> - Cancellation takes effect at the **end of the paid period**, not immediately. Say so.
> - An early order is irreversible: it creates the renewal consultation immediately and uses up the period's one early order. Explain that and get an explicit yes.
> - Prescription and invoice links are medical documents. A `signed_redirect` link opens without signing in: give it only to the patient, never repeat it anywhere shared.
> - Send option `value`s, not the labels shown to the patient. Labels are translated, values are stable.
> - Never ask for card details. Payment happens on Stripe's hosted checkout via a link.
> - On severe or sudden symptoms (chest pain, difficulty breathing, severe allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts), stop and direct the patient to their local emergency number.

# Hi Doctor partnerships: EU doctor review for your product

> Partner with Hi Doctor: EU-licensed doctors review your patients' questionnaires and prescribe only where clinically appropriate.

A Hi Doctor partnership lets your platform offer review by EU-licensed doctors, and a prescription where clinically appropriate, without building your own clinical team. You keep the product and the patient relationship, and Hi Doctor provides the doctors, the medical questionnaires and the prescribing. [Hi Doctor operates across the whole European Union: residents of all 27 EU member states can use the service, and every consultation is reviewed by an EU-licensed doctor](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/regions.md).

## What is a Hi Doctor partnership?

A partnership is a clinical services arrangement. Your platform onboards the patient and collects their answers to a Hi Doctor medical questionnaire. An EU-licensed doctor reviews the case, may ask the patient for more information, and decides whether a prescription is clinically appropriate. Every consultation is reviewed in full by an EU-licensed doctor, who decides on medical grounds only ([how Hi Doctor keeps patients safe](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/safety.md)).

Each partnership covers a set of **consultation categories**: a consultation category is one type of consultation, such as weight management or hair loss, with its own medical questionnaire. The categories Hi Doctor covers are listed on [Treatments](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/treatments.md).

## What does your platform get?

| What | How it works |
| - | - |
| One API call per consultation | You send all the questionnaire answers in a single submission. Any photo or document the questionnaire asks for is uploaded first and referenced in that submission. See [Submit a consultation](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/submit-a-consultation.md) and [Photos and files](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/photos.md). |
| Webhooks for every status change | Your platform is notified as the consultation moves from submission to the doctor's decision. See [Partner API webhooks](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/webhooks.md). |
| Structured information requests | When the doctor needs more information, the request reaches your platform so the patient can answer it. See [Information requests](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/information-requests.md). |
| A business portal | Your team manages API keys and webhook endpoints, sees its members and their roles, follows the consultations it has submitted and exports usage. See [Business portal](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/business-portal.md). |
| Test mode | Test API keys let you build the whole flow without a real consultation reaching a doctor. See [Test mode](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/test-mode.md). |

## Who is a partnership for?

Businesses that already have patients, members or customers and want to offer them a doctor's review, without hiring and managing a clinical team in each country:

* [Weight-loss programmes](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/weight-loss-programmes.md): a doctor's review when a member asks about prescription treatment.
* [Telehealth apps](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/telehealth-apps.md): new categories and EU countries without a new doctor network.
* [Pharmacies](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/pharmacies.md): a route to a prescription for customers asking for prescription-only treatment.
* [Insurers](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/insurers.md): doctor review inside the member app.
* [Employers](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/employers.md): a private health benefit, offered through a benefits platform.
* [Gyms and wellness](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/gyms-and-wellness.md): a doctor for the goals trainers cannot assess.
* [Digital health platforms](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/use-cases/digital-health-platforms.md): prescribing inside a condition-focused product.

## How does a partnership start?

**1. Agree the partnership**

We agree the consultation categories and countries you offer, and the terms, in the partner agreement and the data processing agreement (DPA).

**2. Build in test mode**

You get test API keys and build the integration without creating real consultations or reaching a doctor.

**3. Go live**

Hi Doctor enables live mode for your platform once the DPA is signed and the [go-live checklist](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/go-live-checklist.md) is complete.

**4. Submit and follow consultations**

Your platform sends each completed questionnaire in one API call and follows the doctor's decision through webhooks.

## What does Hi Doctor not do?

Hi Doctor does not sell, stock or ship medicine. If the doctor prescribes, the patient receives the prescription and a pharmacy dispenses the medicine; see [how a consultation works](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/essentials/how-it-works.md). Your platform receives structured prescription data, never the prescription document itself.

## Frequently asked questions

### Is Hi Doctor a pharmacy?

No. Hi Doctor is a consultation service. It does not sell, stock or ship medicine; the pharmacy dispenses it and charges its own price.

### Who makes the clinical decision?

The EU-licensed doctor who reviews the consultation. The decision is never made by the partner platform, an algorithm or an AI assistant.

### What is a consultation category?

A consultation category is one type of consultation, such as weight management or hair loss, with its own medical questionnaire. Your partner agreement lists the categories your platform offers.

### What is the DPA?

The data processing agreement (DPA) is the GDPR contract signed alongside the partner agreement. It sets out how patient data is processed and the controller and processor roles of each side.

### Can we build before going live?

Yes. Once the partnership is agreed you receive test API keys and build in test mode, where no consultation reaches a doctor. Hi Doctor enables live mode once the DPA is signed and the go-live checklist is complete.

### Which countries can our platform offer?

Residents of all 27 EU member states can use Hi Doctor. The countries and categories your platform offers are set in your partner agreement; see [Partnership countries](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partnerships/countries.md).

### Where do our developers start?

At the [Partner API overview](https://docs.hi-doctor.ai/partners/overview.md), which covers access, authentication, test mode and the first request.
